Over 100 CBI cases against 122 bureaucrats in last 5 years: V Narayanasamy

The government today said as many as 110 cases against 122 officers of the rank of joint secretary and above were registered by CBI in the last five years.

NEW DELHI: The government today said as many as 110 cases against 122 officers of the rank of joint secretary and above were registered by CBI in the last five years.

"The allegations against these officers mainly relate to either criminal misconduct or disproportionate assets or criminal conspiracy or trap cases, etc," Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy told Lok Sabha in a written reply.

He said nine such cases were registered in 2007, 15 in 2008, 27 in 2009, 20 in 2010, 24 in 2011 and 14 between January and March this year.

Of these, some were either closed, pending trials or under investigations, Narayanasamy said.
