Outrage over BJP Leader’s Rape Remark

BENGALURU: The media fraternity and women’s organisations in Bengaluru reacted with outrage after a senior BJP politician from Karnataka KS Eshwarappa asked a women reporter that what can the Opposition do if she was dragged and raped at that moment.

The BJP leader was replying to a TV reporter’s question on the increasing incidence of rapes. Women organisations have sought legal action against Eshwarappa under the IPC sections 509 and 294, which can lead to three years of imprisonment.
