President Ram Nath Kovind will be addressing the nation on Sunday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement released on Saturday read. The address will be broadcasted on the entire network of All India Radio and telecast on all the channels of Doordarshan in Hindi as well as English from 7 pm. The broadcast will be followed in other regional languages by regional channels of Doordarshan respectively.

The statement further read that All India Radio will broadcast a regional language version of the address from 9:30 pm on its regional network.

During farewell address on Saturday, President Ram Nath Kovind urged parties to use Gandhian philosophy during debates in the house. ""MPs should always follow Gandhian philosophy while exercising rights of debate and dissent in Parliament," he said.


Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were also present in the farewell ceremony at parliament's Central Hall.

Draupadi Murmu, on Friday, was elected to be the next President of India after defeating the opposition's presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha. Murmu will take oath as the president at the Central Hall of Parliament on Monday.
