SRINAGAR: Outgoing Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today dared the police to register a case against PDP MLA from Sonawar Mohammad Ashraf Mir after a video surfaced purportedly showing him firing several rounds from an automatic rifle on the day of Assembly poll results.

"So will J&K police register a case against the gun toting MLA or will they be too scared in case he's a minister a few days from now?" Omar asked on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"The PDP chap let off an AK 47 to celebrate his victory over me. Thank goodness I didn't lose Beerwah!!! I wonder what they would have fired!" the National Conference working president wrote further.

Mir defeated Omar from Sonawar assembly segment by a margin of over 4,700 votes, becoming the first politician in Jammu and Kashmir to register a victory over an incumbent Chief Minister.
