Osama bin Laden raid wake-up call for Pakistan, says PM
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday asked Pakistan to take effective and quick steps to tackle jehadi groups operating out of its soil and targeting India.
But he ruled out calling off engagement with Pakistan. He said terror concerns cannot be de-coupled from the dialogue process. On David Coleman Headley’s testimony in a Chicago court, the Prime Minister said it has "not brought out anything that we did not know".
Singh said the 2G scandal investigations will not lead to a realignment of political forces on the ruling side in the immediate run.
"As of now, the DMK is our partner and there is no change in that," he said. Singh said the rising oil subsidy bill was an area of concern, but added that he was confident that the government would be able to stick to its growth projections. On low investment flows, Singh said it had more to do with events happening elsewhere. "Investment flows have ebbed but there are events beyond India's control..."
