Organise labour fairs in every district: Mamata Banerjee

KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today asked state labour department officials to organise labour fairs in every district so that workers in the unorganised sector can take advantage of social security schemes.

"We must have ' Shramik Mela' (labour fairs) in every district so that labourers are informed and educated about the schemes. We will simplify the process so that workers can get their benefits easily," Banerjee said at a 'Shramik Mela' here.

Stating that her government was committed to providing social security to workers, she said social security schemes for the unorganised sector who have no PF and insurance have been launched.

"Your struggle inspires us to work. You are our pride," the chief minister told labourers present at the fair.
