Opposition's demand for a 'censure' motion against Sadhvi Jyoti is "ugly double standard": BJP
"BJP rejects with contempt the kind of hypocrisy and ugly double standards in practice," Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said at a press conference.

"BJP rejects with contempt the kind of hypocrisy and ugly double standards in practice," Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said at a press conference.
Prasad, a senior party leader, questioned Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi if they were ready to pass a resolution against the West Bengal Chief Minister for her "debasing" comment against BJP chief Amit Shah, which he said, he cannot even read out.
He posed the same question to other opposition leaders like SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, JD (U) President Shahrad Yadav and those from the Left.
Attacking the opposition for their demand for action against Jyoti, he said "it is hypocrisy of the worst standard and the ugliest form of double standards."
He said these two words best explain the behaviour of the opposition by demanding a resolution against the concerned Minister.
"I ask Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi what they have to say on the words used by Mamata Banerjee against Amit Shah, which I cannot even speak here. I don't think it is my standard to even it read out," he said, adding that such a comment cannot be expected of a Chief Minister who had been a former Union Minister several times as also an MP.
Questioning the opposition leaders, he said "the so-called finer instincts of India's public life is being reminded... what is the comment of a so-called united opposition over a completely unheard of, almost debasing comment of a political leader."
Prasad also posed the question to Trinamool Congress members for creating uproar in Parliament over Jyoti's remarks and sought their response on Mamata's comments.
