Opposition's conclave in Delhi postponed: Chandrababu Naidu

​​Naidu was in Kolkata to meet chief minister Mamata Banerjee and to discuss the future strategies for the united Opposition.

KOLKATA: The Opposition’s conclave, scheduled to be held on November 22 in Delhi has been postponed due to the assembly elections in five states. The Opposition parties will meet in December before the winter session in Parliament, said N Chandrababu Naidu, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

Naidu was in Kolkata to meet chief minister Mamata Banerjee and to discuss the future strategies for the united Opposition.

After an hour long meeting with Banerjee at the state secretariat Nabanna, Naidu said, “The date for the meeting was tentative. We are postponing the date as the assembly elections are on in some states. We will chalk out a plan for the next meeting before the winter session of Parliament and then the date will be announced.”


Adding that he is in touch with all senior Opposition leaders including Mayawati, Naidu said, “we all are responsible leaders and this is our responsibility to come together to save the country and the democracy.”

Speaking about the face of the coalition, Banerjee, flanked by Naidu said that all leaders are the faces of the coalition and there is no single person. Echoing Banerjee, Naidu said, “All of us are very senior and experienced leaders. In fact we are more experienced then Modi ji.”
