On Wednesday, Opposition parties from various spectrum the Congress, the Janata Parivar, Trinamool Congress, CPM...etc - have extended their support to the ongoing coal workers mass strike against the coal block Ordinance which they allege will lead to the denationalization of coal mining. The AICC has already decided to hold 'chetna abhiyan' across the country to take the land acquisition ordinance issue to the farmers, a much sought-after political constituency. The Congress leadership says the Ordinance will adversely affect the interests of the farmers. "These over five lakh coal mines workers are on strike to protest against the recent Ordinance that seeks to do with the coal mines nationalization Act 1973. It is important note that even the pro-BJP trade union BMS, too has joined other central trade unions' strike... We also condemn this government's tendency to bypass parliament by resorting to Ordinance Raj," said AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.
