Railways suspended its NTPC and level 1 exams after candidates went on a rampage in Bihar and eastern UP, alleging irregularities in the process.
RJD, Congress, CPI, CPI-M and CPI-ML have extended support to a Bihar bandh on Friday called by AISA and other youth organisations in protest against alleged irregularities in stage 1 results of Railway Recruitment Board's NTPC exams.

AISA general secretary Sandeep Saurav told ET the committee formed by the railway ministry was a 'conspiracy' to postpone the 'scam' till elections in Uttar Pradesh were over. He termed the committee formed by the ministry to look into the allegations of irregularities in RRB's stage 1 exam results a 'hoax'.

Railways suspended its NTPC and level 1 exams after candidates went on a rampage in Bihar and eastern UP, alleging irregularities in the process. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw later urged them not to destroy public property and assured them to redress grievances. The ministry has constituted a committee to listen to views of candidates who cleared or failed the exam. The panel will submit its report to the ministry, only after which it will decide on the fate of the exam. CPRO Rajesh Kumar said RRB was planning a mega outreach of aspirants. "We will give an opportunity to every candidate who wants to share grievances and give suggestions till February 16," he said.

Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati joined her political peers on Thursday to say the uproar in UP and Bihar during the first UPTET and RRB-NTPC results of railway exam proved BJP governments were a failure. The Congress' student wing on Thursday held a demonstration in front of the railway ministry in New Delhi to protest against police action against the job aspirants.
