The female doctor's death on Thursday evoked a strong reaction as before dying, she had written on her palm about being sexually assaulted by a police sub-inspector and also accused a software engineer of harassing her.
While the sub-inspector is absconding, police have arrested the software engineer. However, a five-page letter written by the doctor to authorities prior to her death has come out in which the deceased has also mentioned being pressured by the hospital authorities, as well as the staff of a BJP parliamentarian, to allegedly alter the medical reports of undertrial prisoners.
Opposition leaders claim that the BJP parliamentarian being referred to is former MP from Madha, Ranjitsinh Nimbalkar. "The woman had already filed complaints that she was being forced to alter postmortem as well as medical reports. Maybe it was being done to either implicate someone or to exonerate someone. The police should book the former BJP MP in the case too," said Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Sena leader Ambadas Danve.
