Operation Sindoor: Jet flyovers, blasts jolt Kashmir overnight as India avenges Pahalgam attack

Kashmir Valley woke up to crazy sounds of the jets in the skies and around 1:45 am distant sounds of some blasts sent shock waves across.

Hovering of jets continued in Kashmir till this report was filed. In Srinagar at least two loud blasts could be heard distinctly. This air activity has got the population in J&K worried about the possible escalation as they have started exchanging messages and calling each other to enquire about their safety.

"Our houses were shaken with this activity in the air," said a resident of Peerbagh, near the airport in Srinagar.

Earlier the air activity in the skies of Kashmir was reported in the wee hours of Tuesday as well and it had also pushed some areas in panic mode.

Since the Pahalgam attack that killed 25 tourists and one local on April 22 tensions heightened between the two nuclear powers. In Kashmir people had started hoarding essential items including medicine and eatables but were caught by surprise with this action a day before the mock drill across the country was planned.
