Open to talks, opposition must not adopt spit 'n' run strategy: Govt
With Parliament going into a recess, the government has said it is willing to discuss all issues and answer all questions from the Opposition provided it put a stop to its 'spit and run' attitude.

Government is willing to discuss afresh the three farm laws and negotiate with the protesters on their apprehensions provided they come up with specific issues on which they have objections, well-placed sources in the government said, amid indications that a fresh attempt is being made to resolve the crisis.
The Opposition spoke in different voices in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha during the budget session and levelled baseless allegations instead of discussing the issues, a Union minister said. “As per procedure, we were to answer to charges levelled by the Opposition, but there was shouting and noise, followed by a walkout. They don’t want to hear you. Even if the Prime Minister gets up to answer their questions, they stage a walkout,” a senior party leader said.
The Opposition has “adopted a spit and run policy”. It can always oppose but then it cannot run away when the government is clarifying its position. The government is committed to answering all “legitimate and genuine questions” raised by the Opposition. “Does the Opposition believe in parliamentary system or not? It should take a consistent position. It cannot impose its conditions on the country,” the minister said.
