Oomen Chandy plays down Opposition demand for Shashi Tharoor's resignation
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today played down the opposition demand for resignation of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in the wake of Delhi police registering a murder case in connection with the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar a year ago.

"What should I say on this. A legal process has started. Tharoor himself has demanded a thorough probe", Chandy told reporters when his reaction was sought to the opposition demand.

The opposition CPI(M) and BJP have called for Tharoor's resignation as Lok Sabha member from Thiruvananthapuram in view of Delhi police registering a murder case on the basis of a medical report that concluded Sunanda's death was unnatural and due to poisoning.
