AMETHI: Uttar Pradesh's Minister of Panchayati Raj, Kamal Akhtar, today said that BJP was the only party which posed challenge to the ruling Samajwadi Party in the upcoming Assembly polls.

However, the SP leader said that the people have "learned the realty" of the party (BJP).

"Out of BSP, Congress and BJP, the saffron party is the nearest rival of Samajwadi Party but public has learned its reality," Akhtar said told reporters here.

Elections in Uttar Pradesh are due in 2017. Earlier, Akhtar also criticised the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, saying the "scheme is only formed to cheat common people."
