KOCHI: The online taxi drivers in Kerala has declared an indefinite strike demanding a permanent wage structure.

To start with, the Uber taxi drivers will go on strike from Tuesday, Adv. TRS Kumar, spokesman of the online taxi drivers union said here.

He said that the wages of the drivers fluctuate every week. "Our demand is that the company should announce a permanent wage structure. It can be for a quarter or on a half yearly or yearly basis", he said.

The driver's union spokesman also said that the practise of deducting 25% of the wages should be stopped. "It's a hidden charge imposed on us", he added. The clause that 80 % of calls should be accepted must change, he said. It should be brought down to 70%.
