NOpposition MPs including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan and others protest over Ambedkar row, at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi on Friday.
Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die without conducting any significant business on Friday as Opposition continued its protests against home minister Amit Shah's remarks on Dr B R Ambedkar.

At 11 am, as soon as Lok Sabha assembled, Opposition members raised slogans of "Jai Bhim" and demanded that Shah apologise. Instead of taking the Question Hour, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla asked law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to move the resolution to refer the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 referred to Joint Committee of Parliament comprising 27 members from the Lok Sabha and 12 from the Rajya Sabha. The resolution was adopted by a voice vote even as the Opposition members marched into the well of the House.

As the protests continued, Speaker warned the members that they should not protest inside the Parliament House complex as it was against the rules. He said he would be forced to take action. The Speaker adjourned the House sine die.
