One minor killed, several injured in a blast at Dum Dum

KOLKATA: A seven year old child was killed after a blast took place at Dum Dum , a north Kolkata locality. According to police sources, eight people were injured of which, four are critical.

The bomb disposal squad of CID reached the spot. The nature of the explosives is yet to be ascertained. Police called it a “ high intensity” blast. According to West Bengal CID’s bomb disposal squad ,multiple crude bombs were kept inside a jute bag with 'jalkhantis" used in fishing net. These have been used as splinters, added sources.

No terror link could be established so far. SP of NIA has rushed to the spot. Chances of factional feud in TMC being a reason behind the blast cannot be ruled out either.
