One killed, three injured in Bengaluru accident
A speeding Mercedes Benz driven by an orthopaedic killed one person and injured three others in a serial accident near Byrasandra on Sunday afternoon.
The incident took place at 2.30pm when Shankar, who was driving fast from Ashoka Pillar, lost control and hit two stationary cars, a pedestrian and a bike that had Mohammad Rizwan (52) and his wife. The impact caused the bike to be dragged with the car before it hit a house, which was heavily damaged. Rizwan was killed on the spot and his wife sustained injuries.
Shankar’s house maid and her two-year old child were in the car at the time of the accident and sustained minor injuries, DCP (South) BS Lokesh Kumar said. "Shankar has been taken to Bowring hospital for a medical test to ascertain if he was drunk. We are awaiting the report."
The damaged house belonged to Rathnamma, who luckily is in Mysuru with three other inhabitants.
