One dead in clash between two Trinamool groups

Shamim said, "A seriously injured person was admitted to a hospital where he later died. A few other people have also been injured in the clash."

KOLKATA: One person was today killed and several others were injured in a clash between two groups of people owing allegiance to two different Trinamool Congress leaders over a vacant piece of land at Dhapa in the city.

A group, led by a local TMC councillor, clashed with a group led by another TMC leader over a vacant piece of land in the morning, Joint Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Javed Shamim, said.

Shamim said, "A seriously injured person was admitted to a hospital where he later died. A few other people have also been injured in the clash."

The situation is now under control and policemen have been deployed in the area, the police said.
