One-day National Lok Adalat held; 715 cases settled

NAGPUR: As many as 715 cases were settled during the one-day National Lok Adalat with recovery value amounting at Rs 6.96 crore.

The adalat that was organised by District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) here recently, settled Cheque bounce cases of Rs 60.77 lakh, Secretary, DLSA, K D Jadhav said.

Bank loan recovery cases of Rs 4.83 lakh were also settled. The adalat also dealt with pre-litigation cases worth to Rs 1,53,016.

Principal District and Session Judge K K Sonawane had inaugurated the adalat.

A number of panels were formed that included judicial officers, advocates and social workers, while students from law colleges assisted the panel in the processes, Jadhav said.
