BENGALURU: No one quite knows where Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has retreated to introspect, but Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to find refuge in Bengaluru. He is scheduled to visit the city as part of a health treatment on March 5, a day after the national executive of the Aam AAdmi Party (AAP) concludes in Delhi.

Kejriwal, who suffers from chronic cough, asthma and diabetes was suggested a round of treatment at the Bengaluru-based Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhan Samstha (S-VYASA) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Run by Dr H R Nagendra, a relative of RSS leader H V Sheshadri and a former NASA scientist, the S-VYASA has run yoga camps for the Gujarat government on a regular basis.

"I have spoken to the Delhi chief minister who called up after the Prime Minister suggested that we treat him.He asked us many questions on the suggested treatment which is a combination of thereuptic yoga, kriyas and some medication suggested by his doc tors," said Nagendra to ET.

"Normally our treatment is spread over a couple of weeks, requires you to turn in early, wake up early and general satvik living. He was apprehensive about not being able to take that much time off, and to be allowed to work in between therapies while in Bengaluru," said Nagendra. "We assured him that along with our team of doctors we will tailor a course of treatment where he could take in some work as well," added Nagendra. "We are waiting to hear from him," he added.

For Kejriwal, the political temperature in Delhi even more than his trademark and chronic cough may be what is attracting him to the salubrious climes of Bengaluru.

After all, Rahul Gandhi, as is being witnessed in the serial changes to his party being affected as per his plans has turned a retreat into a political tactic.
