On morning walk, Bengaluru MLA sees piles of hair, cleans up street

Political leaders usually clean up streets and public places on special occasions such as environment day or cleanliness drive. But Rajajinagar MLA S.Suresh Kumar cleared a street in Kamakshipalya of piles of hair dumped by hair-cutting saloons on Thursday morning.

The BJP MLAs facebook post about this has gone viral, and is widely commented.


During his walk in Kamakshipalya around 4.30 am on Thursday, the former Minister noticed piles of hair, some of which scattered across the road, presenting an ugly sight. He immediately woke up his party worker Umesh and requested him to bring two broomsticks. The two together cleared the street and loaded the waste into bags.

A couple of passersby could not stand the sight when the BJP MLA started lifting the hair with his bare hand to fill into a bag. “When we both were lifting the hair with bare hands, some onlookers were surprised by what we were doing, and even advised us not to use hands. But we had no option,” the FB post says.
