On allegations linking Robert Vadra & arms dealer Congress chief Sonia Gandhi demands impartial probe
LUCKNOW: Amid allegations linking her son-inlaw Robert Vadra and an arms dealer over a London mansion, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called for an impartial probe. She said all kinds of allegations were being flung on the family every other day and an impartial probe would reveal the truth. On a two-day trip to her Raebareli constituency, Sonia Gandhi, when asked by the media about the BJP government’s two years in power, chose to single out PM Modi. “Prime minister is a prime minister, not a shahenshah (emperor). He is supposed to be the country’s prime minister.

When there is poverty, drought and farmers are in trouble, such a show does not seem proper,” she said, referring to the two-year celebrations put up by the Modi government.

When asked about allegations against Vadra, the Congress president said: “This is a conspiracy. Congress-mukt Bharat! What does it mean? They level allegations daily. If there is such a thing, an impartial probe will make it clear.” BJP reacted sharply to Sonia Gandhi’s remarks on Modi, calling them deplorable. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said Modi had risen from a humble background and it was the Gandhi dynasty which ruled the country for many years like a shahenshah.
