In the wake of Omar Abdullah's allegation of "spying" on him, Jammu and Kashmir Police today said it is following the procedures and protocols.

SRINAGAR: In the wake of Omar Abdullah's allegation of "spying" on him, Jammu and Kashmir Police today said it is following the procedures and protocols as laid down in respect of all SSG ( Special Security Group) protectees which includes the former Chief Minister.

"In the context of views expressed in the social media by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, it is clarified that the procedures and protocols as laid down in the 'Blue Book' are being followed in respect of all SSG protectees including the former Chief Minister," a police spokesman said here.

The spokesman was responding to Omar's allegations that the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government was "brazenly" spying on him.

He said a journalist wanting to interview him for a national daily had been stopped right outside his residence by "CID person".
