Omar Abdullah sends J&K copter to fly ex-PoK PM Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary

Chaudhary arrived in the state capital to attend the wedding of his Kashmiri friend Zahoor Ahmad Watali and met Omar Abdullah at the reception on Monday.

SRINAGAR: Going beyond state protocol, Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday facilitated former prime minister of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary, with a state chopper that flew him to Pahalgam.

Chaudhary arrived in the state capital to attend the wedding of his Kashmiri friend Zahoor Ahmad Watali and met Omar Abdullah at the reception on Monday.

"The CM, who met the visiting ex-prime minister of PoK at a wedding, offered the state helicopter to ferry him to Pahalgam once he realized that Chaudhary was pressed for time. This was a courtesy extended to a guest from PoK and a goodwill gesture," said the government spokesman.
