Omar Abdullah reviews status of ADB grant projects in J&K

Omar Abdullah reviewed the status of progress on various big ticket projects being implemented in the state by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) under Asian Development Bank funding.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today reviewed the status of progress on various big ticket projects being implemented in the state by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) under Asian Development Bank funding.

Chairing the 18th Governing Body meeting of ERA, the Chief Minister received a complete brief on the pace of progress of various works and the time frame fixed for their completion.

Emphasising on their timely completion, Abdullah directed ERA to fast track the projects including construction of a modern multi-tier parking at KMD bus stand, Jahangir Chowk and Bikram Chowk flyovers, Talab Tillo sewerage scheme, storm water drainage projects at Athwajan, Digiana and Channi Himmat.

He also directed to procure solid waste management equipment for Srinagar Municipal Corporation, procurement of water tankers and strengthening of the water supply system in Jammu city.

Describing the projects as those of public service importance, the Chief Minister said the progress on these should be as per a well planned schedule. He also directed for physical auditing of the projects.
