The Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha (BSM) is in talks with the Aam Aadmi Party, the Trinamool Congress and the Shiv Sena to join an alliance for the assembly polls in the state, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has said.

BSM led by Rajbhar's party has AIMIM, Jan Adhikar Party, Rashtra Uday Party, Janta Kranti Party and Rashtriya Upekshit Samaj Party as constituents and hopes to corner a portion of Muslim, Backward and Dalit votes. Rajbhar refuted reports of a rift with AIMIM over seat distribution. Rajbhar, an erstwhile BJP ally, said the alliance planned to contest all 403 seats in UP but there has been no discussion on seat distribution among constituents, including AIMIM.

"I have spoken to Sanjay Singh of AAP many times and will also meet Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi in a few days. The UP in charge of Trinamool has also expressed desire in person and so I have asked him to first talk it out with Mamata Banerjee and let us know. I have spoken to Sanjay Raut at least a dozen times," Rajbhar told ET.

When asked how he planned to manage parties which were in power in other states, Rajbhar said: "It is everybody's consensus that it is better to come together as an alliance and fight decisively in a few seats than unsuccessfully fight solo in many. All the parties are focussed on results," he said.
