Olympian Vijender Singh demands making odd and even scheme permanent
New Delhi: Professional boxer and Olympic medallist Vijender Singh on Friday supported Delhi government's odd and even scheme and demanded that it be made "permanent".

Singh met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in his office to invite the latter for a boxing match at the IGI Stadium on June 11. It was during this meeting that Singh had optimistic words to spare about the first phase of the road rationing scheme. He told Kejriwal, "It (odd and even) was a huge success and relief. It must be made permanent."

Kejriwal informed Singh that a second edition of the scheme was returning on April 15 and also accepted the latter's invitation and agreed to "take time out and attend the match," said a statement from Kejriwal's office.

As per the statement, Singh told Kejriwal that "this was one of the first professional fights in India."
