Old videos falsely shared as current amid CJP protest; Delhi police warn against misinformation

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday urged people not to share unverified social media content and cautioned that spreading misinformation could invite legal action amid the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest.

Police said several social media handles were circulating old and out-of-context videos of massive Tricolour rallies, clashes with police and lathi charges, falsely portraying them as current events.

The police appeal came amid heightened security arrangements in the national capital ahead of the CJP's 'Lehra Do Tiranga' protests.
