DEHRADUN: More than a week after the imposition of President’s rule, formation of an advisory council is under process in Uttarakhand. Since it is first experience of the hill state under President’s rule, officials are spending sleepless nights to ensure smooth running of the state administration, as per constitutional provisions.

The advisory council is considered to be a replacement of the state Cabinet under President’s rule. “Formation of an advisory council is under process. Government officials are trying to get help from the old letters issued during the imposition of President’s rule in UP in the past to run the state affairs in Uttarakhand,” a source in the state secretariat told ET on the condition of anonymity.

According to him, the proposals, which different departments prepare, would be placed before the council for its approval.
