NEW DELHI: India and Iran discussed regional issues besides the bilateral matters when the Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ameer Saeed Iravani held talks with Deputy National Security Adviser Arvind Gupta here.

Iravani was on a three-day visit to India which concluded today.

"Both sides exchanged views on issues of regional and bilateral mutual interest and agreed to continue their interaction in the future," a PMO statement said.

Security Council Structures of India and Iran have regular dialogue channel.

The Iranian delegation also met National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar.
