Officials involved in Bihar firing be charged with murder
Lok Janshakti Party on Monday demanded that the local authorities who were involved in the police firing in Kahalgaon, Bihar, should be charged for murder.
"LJP demands that the guilty local authorities involved in this incident should be charged under Section 302 IPC. The families of the deceased should be given Rs ten lakh each as compensation," the party said.
The dependents should also be provided government jobs, it added.
The LJP, which constituted a five-member party enquiry committee, alleged that the incident shows that the state government and the administration have a high-handed approach towards the people.
"Also, this is not the first incident of oppressing the people's agitation. Prior to this, there have been eight incidents of police firing during the NDA regime, in Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Rohtas and other districts of Bihar," it said.
Meanwhile, the LJP has decided to observe 'Bihar Bandh' on January 25 to protest the police firing.
