Odisha Mining Corporation donates Rs 50 crore for Phailin-hit people
BHUBANESWAR: The state-owned Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) today donated Rs 50 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for restoration and rehabilitation of the people affected by the cyclone Phailin and the resultant flood in the state.

Steel and Mines minister R K Singh accompanied by senior officials of the department handed over a cheque of Rs 50 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Singh also handed over a cheque of Rs 400 crore to Patnaik as OMC's profit for the year 2012-13 fiscal.

The OMC donated the amount as part of its corporate social responsibility activities.

Energy minister A K Sahoo on behalf of the state-owned Odisha Hydro-Power Corporation and Odisha Power Generation Corporation also donated Rs one crore each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
