Bhubaneswar: All districts of Odisha will be under lockdown from Tuesday midnight until 29 March. Naveen Patnaik’s government made this announcement stretching its lockdown of 14 districts, largely in coastal Odisha, to the entire state. Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy held a meeting in the morning with all district collectors to ensure this can be implemented strictly and smoothly.

Hospitals, clinics, pathlabs, pharmacies, the state police, fire station and all agencies working against corona will be allowed to be open. Banks, advised to work with ten percent of staff, will also be allowed to work as will as ATMs, and basic suppliers such as milk, groceries and other essential service provides.

The state government has ordered the local administration to help reach schedule caste and schedule tribe children living in government hostel to their families. The CM will also make a special appeal later in the day.
