Obama's India visit: Forward Bloc to organize mass protest
KOLKATA: The Forward Bloc today said it would organize mass protest throughout the country against the visit of US president Barrack Obama who would be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebration next year.

"This is first time an American President has been invited as chief guest for our Republic Day. The world cannot forget the American barbarism in Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Iraq, Libya and other Middle East countries.

"We cannot forget their role along with Britain in our freedom struggle. The clarion call of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose against the Anglo-American forces is worth remembering here," Forward Bloc general secretary Debabrata Biswas said in a statement here.

Urging the government to cancel the invitation and hold high the ant-imperialist tradition of Indian people, Biswas said the party would organize mass protest throughout the country against the visit of Obama.

Biswas also lashed the BJP government for allegedly pursuing a communal agenda and trying to sabotage the secular fabric of the nation.
