WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama would visit India in the near future, but not in the next three months, the White House said.

"I know the President at some point will travel to India," the White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, told reporters at his daily press briefing yesterday.

"I do not have anything on the schedule for the next three months," Gibbs said in response to a question.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is visiting the United States in November later this year on a state visit.
