Nuh minor, Muzaffarnagar burnt for months: BJP minority cell chief

BJP minority morcha president Jamal Siddiqui has played down the recent communal flareup in Nuh, which led to the death of six people. The incident was minor, compared to riots during the tenure of earlier governments, he claimed. A day earlier, Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh had said that even during Partition there were no riots in the area.

Such incidents will not affect BJP’s Muslim outreach programme, Siddiqui said. “Nuh is a minor incident, and the government controlled the situation in a day. If you recall, Muzaffarnagar in UP was burning for months and children died due to cold weather in shelters during winter,” Siddiqui said while speaking to ET. Nuh is in Haryana and close to the national capital.

BJP’s minority morcha is running a Modi Mitra campaign among the Muslim community in 65 Lok Sabha seats.
