NEW DELHI: The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) is working on a plan to ensure a better future for war widows through skill development training.

Besides, it's in talks with the Indian Army to explore the possibility of offering skill training to ex-servicemen, according to NSIC Chairman and Managing Director Ravindra Nath.

"We are thinking of training war widows on how to give them a better place in society so that they can have a better future tomorrow," he said today.

He was speaking at the annual general meeting of the All India Rubber Industries Association.

A government undertaking, NSIC is focussed on promoting and aiding micro, small and medium enterprises.

Nath, however, raised concerns about reporting practices of small industries as some of them do not share information with credit rating agencies.

"We still have concerns when it comes to transparency and reporting (about business)," he added.
