NSCN (IM) insurgent caught by Army troops in Manipur: Official

KOLKATA: An insurgent of the NSCN (IM) was caught by Army troops in Manipur, a defence official said today.

In an operation carried out by the troops under Red Shield Division apprehended the hardcore insurgent yesterday from Senapati district of Manipur.

A 9 mm pistol, three live rounds of 9 mm, Rs 3 lakh and mobiles were seized from him, the official said adding that the insurgent has confessed to be staying in Hebron camp and was moving towards Buning camp to carry out assigned task of the outfit.

The insurgent was handed over to the local police station.
