LONDON: Scores of leading NRIs here threw a surprise party for Balwant Kapoor, President of the Indian Overseas Congress, on his 80th birthday.
At the function held last night, speakers including Darshan Grewal, former Mayor of Hounslow, lauded the services rendered by Kapoor such as organising India's Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations here.
Kapoor had also taken part in the freedom movement.
