NR Congress to contest 16 seats in Puducherry; AIADMK, BJP 14

As part of the seat-sharing agreement, the NR Congress will contest 16 seats while the BJP and the AIADMK will contest the remaining 14 seats.

The NR Congress and BJP announced a tie-up for the April 6 assembly election in Puducherry on Tuesday, with NR Congress president N Rangasamy as the leader of the alliance.

As part of the seat-sharing agreement, the NR Congress will contest 16 seats while the BJP and the AIADMK will contest the remaining 14 seats. The AIADMK and the BJP will decide on seat-sharing through talks, the Karnataka BJP vice president in charge of the party’s political affairs in Puducherry, Nirmal Kumar Surana, told the media on behalf of the National Democratic Alliance. The chief ministerial candidate would be decided after the election, said the parties.
