NPF directs its MP to vote against UPA

The Nagaland People's Front has asked its lone MP Wangyuh Konyak to vote against the UPA govt in today's confidence vote.

NEW DELHI: The Nagaland People's Front has asked its lone MP Wangyuh Konyak to vote against the UPA government in today's confidence vote but the Lok Sabha member said he was "confident" that the government would win the trust vote.

"I have directed Konyak to vote against the motion," NPF President Surzezie said.

Asked about the reasons for the decision, Surzezie said the NPF had been supporting the UPA government since the beginning and even voted in favour of its Presidential candidate.

"But instead of reciprocating our gesture, the UPA had dismissed our government in Nagaland just before the assembly elections in March and imposed President's rule. Now it is our turn to reciprocate the UPA's action," he said.

When asked whom he would vote for during the trust vote, Konyak refused to give a direct reply but said "I can confidently say that the government will win the trust vote".
