NPCC to approach EC on money, arms in Assembly polls issue

The resolution was adopted during a joint meeting of the leaders of NPCC with District Congress Committee and Assembly Constituency leaders.

KOHIMA: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee while accepting its debacle in the February 23 Assembly elections today resolved to approach the Election Commission on the huge amount of money and arms allegedly seized from candidates of the ruling Naga People's Front.

Adopting a resolution, the NPCC also decided to approach the UPA government to find an honourable and acceptable solution to the Naga political issue before the parliamentary elections.

The party resolved to work for the rights of the people and raise issues of corruption allegedly being practised by the NPF-led DAN government in the state for the last 10 years in power.

The resolution was adopted during a marathon joint meeting of the leaders of NPCC with District Congress Committee and Assembly Constituency leaders at the Congress Bhavan here.

Congress Legislature Party leader Tokheho Yepthomi and NPCC president S I Jamir along with some other senior Congress leaders of the state including I Imkong, Kewekhape Therieh asked party workers not to be disheartened but to stand unitedly to bring Congress back to power.
