— ANI (@ANI) 1545637073000The new service will provide huge relief particularly for the elderly and specially-abled, because of the steep climb to an altitude of 6,600 feet.
The trial for the ropeway project was started on November 26 and was concluded recently. Besides trial and testing of the passenger ropeway, mock rescue and evacuation drills were also conducted to ensure the safety of the passengers.
The ropeway works had been undertaken by the joint venture of Garaventa AG, Switzerland and Damodar Ropeways Construction Co (P) Ltd, Kolkata, under the supervision of RITES.
