Now take a tour of Varanasi on Ganga in this Rs 1 crore double-decker luxury cruise

Now, you can take a luxury cruise trip on the river Ganga in Varanasi and see all the 84 ghats of the city. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today launched a cruise service Alakanada in Varanasi. The 5-star kind luxury cruise line is first of its kind service to be launched in India and was first mooted by Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari. The cruise is developed at a cost of Rs 1 crore by a Kolkata-based company and will be operated by the Nordic Cruise Line.

The double-decked cruiser is 30-metre long and have a total capacity of 110 passengers. The lower deck is air-conditioned, while the upper deck of the ship has a restaurant from where people can enjoy the open view. The cruiser has modern facilities like latest navigational systems, bio-toilets, television and WiFi which will be available for free.

The cost for one trip is Rs 750 plus GST, but special packages like Rudhrabhishek will cost more. The Rudhrabhishek package would cost Rs 75,000 plus GST.



The cruise liner will take tourists and devotees on a two-hours trip during sunrises and sunsets when they can witness the famous Ganga Aarti. The cruise can also be booked during the day for special bookings or events like Rudhrabhishek.

The cruiser will cover 84 ghats of Varanasi. It will start from Assi Ghat and end at the same point after the trip covering 12 kilometres.

On-board, vegetarian dishes like kachori, jalebi, samosas and batichokha will be available.
