Now, Lok Adalat to take up disputes subject-wise
NAGPUR: A unique idea has hit upon the organisers of the Lok Adalat, who would be now holding it subject-wise or separately for identical cases.

The Nagpur District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) has decided to conduct Lok Adalats throughout the year from now onwards. It would begin from later this month and continue till October.

The event would be held under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority and Maharashtra State Legal Service Authority.

The DLSA had conducted special Lok Adalat for pre-litigation disputes on premises of Nagpur District and Sessions Court recently.

Out of 200 disputes, 76 were amicably settled as they were related to excess billing and telephone recovery bills, Civil Judge and Secretary DLSA, KIshore Jaiswal said.

The first event will be organised on February 14 on cheque bounce and bank-related cases, particularly under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument (NI) Act.
