Notice to Haryana govt, CBI, Rathore in Ruchika molestation case
The High Court issued notices in the Ruchika molestation case.
The court questioned why it took 19 years for justice to be delivered to Ruchika's family.
The Haryana government, the CBI and the former DGP have been ordered to file their replies by January 27.
The notice was issued after the World Human Rights Protection Council (WHRPC) moved the petition in the court, asking the court to probe the delay in delivery of justice.
The court did not issue notice to the Sacred Heart School, accused of expelling Ruchika at the behest of Rathore, after the counsel for the Haryana government informed that it had already initiated the probe against the school.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Haryana police refrained from opposing Rathore's bail request in the Panchkula court a day before the court was to hear the former Haryana DGP's anticipatory bail plea. The state government had on Tuesday recommended to the Centre a CBI probe into charges of abetment to suicide by Ruchika.
