NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to quash a Parliament resolution condemning former judge Markanday Katju’s remarks that Mahatma Gandhi was a British agent and Subhas Chandra Bose an agent of the Japanese. But the court agreed to examine whether the House could have passed such a resolution without hearing the affected party.

The court brushed off suggestions by Justice Katju’s lawyer Gopal Subramanium that the March 11 Rajya Sabha resolution impinged on his reputation.
