Nothing wrong in separatists meeting Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit: Shabir Ahmad Shah
SRINAGAR: Separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah today said Kashmir issue was a "trilateral" one and there was nothing wrong in separatists meeting with Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit.

"Kashmir is not a bilateral issue, but a trilateral one," the Democratic Freedom Party chairman told reporters here. . There was nothing wrong in separatist leaders meeting with the Pakistan High Commissioner as such meetings had taken place in the past also, Shah said.

Till the "core issue" of Kashmir was addressed, there would be no forward movement on other issues between the two neighbouring nations, he said.

The cancellation of Foreign Secretary-level talks was "undemocratic and unjustified", Shah said.

The separatist leader hoped the Prime Ministers of both the countries would meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly next month.
